Uber Launches On-Demand Safari Rides in Nairobi National Park

Nairobi, Kenya – Ride-hailing giant Uber has launched a new service in Kenya offering on-demand safari experiences inside Nairobi National Park, marking a first-of-its-kind move to blend tech-driven convenience with wildlife tourism.

Dubbed "Uber Safari," the service allows users to book guided game drives directly through the Uber app, providing a seamless way to explore the park’s iconic landscapes and wildlife from the comfort of a safari vehicle.

The launch is part of Uber’s broader push to localize its offerings in African markets, tapping into Kenya’s thriving tourism sector while promoting accessible and sustainable travel experiences.

“We’re excited to introduce Uber Safari in one of the world’s most unique parks—a wildlife reserve just minutes from a major capital city,” said Imran Manji, Uber’s Head of East Africa. “This service not only supports local tourism but also offers an innovative way for residents and visitors alike to experience Kenya’s natural beauty.”

The safari rides, operated in partnership with local tour operators, come with professional guides and are priced per vehicle, accommodating groups for half-day excursions.

Nairobi National Park, located just outside the capital, is home to a wide range of wildlife including lions, rhinos, giraffes, and over 400 bird species—all set against the backdrop of Nairobi’s skyline.
